What is ASTM A519 Grade 1020?

ASTM A519 is a seamless steel pipe for mechanical purposes with an outside diameter not exceeding 12 3/4 inches (325 mm).

Grade 1020, Grade MT 1020, and Grade MT X 1020 are three of the grades, all of which are carbon steel pipes.

Manufacturing Process of ASTM A519

ASTM A519 shall be manufactured using a seamless process, which is a tubular product without welded seams.

Seamless steel tubes are usually manufactured by hot working. If required, the hot-worked product can also be cold-worked to obtain the desired shape, size, and properties.

ASTM A519 contains round, square, rectangular, or other special shapes.
